About PipeIt
A simpler way to use the piping model during construction.
PipeIt turns the project piping model into a practical web tool for the field and office. Users can open the model, find the line or component they need, review basic material information, and update installation progress in one place.
The purpose
PipeIt gives the project team one simple place to open the piping model and use it during construction. Instead of jumping between model files, drawings, notes, and spreadsheets, the model becomes the common reference for the work.
What users can do
- Open a project model from a web browser.
- Find work by line number, spec, drawing, source file, or component information.
- Review basic material and BOM information from the model.
- Update installation progress for selected components.
- Use the dashboard to see what is released, installed, tested, and complete.
How it works
- The project team keeps model files in Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- PipeIt reads the approved project folders and prepares the model for web viewing.
- Users sign in, open the project, and view the full model set together.
- Selected model parts can be assigned a construction status such as Installed, Passed QC, Tested, or Complete.
- The dashboard turns those updates into project progress summaries.
Why teams use it
The goal is to make model information easier to use during construction. PipeIt is not meant to replace design software or project document control. It gives the people building and managing the work a focused place to view the model and track what has happened in the field.
Access and setup
PipeIt is set up project by project. Users receive a login from the application owner, and each user only sees the projects they are supposed to access.
